Results: Totally, 210 studies were fully reviewed and the information from 160 studies was extracted and analyzed. The results of this study are summarized in 5 themes (Nurses’ competency levels, Nursing competency dimensions, Effective factors in clinical competency, Effective strategies for promotion of clinical competency, relationship between nursing competency and other variables such as (Job satisfaction, quality of work life, emotional intelligence, patient satisfaction)).
Conclusion: The results of some studies showed that one variable had a positive effect on clinical competence, while other studies either did not report a result or considered the relationship negative and inverse, so researchers did not reach a collective consensus on this issue. Different questionnaires were used to assess the qualifications of nurses, each of which had different areas from the other. This made it difficult to compare and agree.
