● The school health nurses help to promote community healthcare, prevent diseases, and ultimately alleviate illnesses in the educational environment of schools.
● The current study determined the effect of self-awareness training in the mothers who are the head of the family on the self-efficacy of their 10- to 12-year-old sons.
● The obtained results indicated that the self-efficacy score of 10- to 12-year-old boys increased after self-awareness training was provided to their mothers.
● Providing training classes on self-awareness and self-efficacy is recommended to educational planners as a lowcost, feasible, and accessible approach to target groups, including students and parents.
Plain Language Summary
Children in single-parent families spend less time with their parents, compared to nuclear families; as a result, they may suffer weakness in performance and competence. More than 20% of students in Iran suffer from personal problems, such as low capability and family issues. According to the general population and housing census of 2016, the age group of 0-14 years constitutes 24% of the country’s population. Some families in the country include a singleparent, and of these families, 83% are managed by females. This study discussed the effect of self-awareness skill training in the mothers who are the head of the family on the self-efficacy of their 10- to 12-year-old sons. Based on the collected results, self-awareness skill training was effective in self-efficacy. Accordingly, educational program planners could use this method to promote mental health as well as self-efficacy in single-parent children.

● Independence in performing the basic and instrumental activities of daily living decreases health costs and increases the quality of life in the elderly.
● Activities of daily living decrease in older adults due to numerous conditions, such as declined biopsychological health, social isolation, and the medications’ adverse effects.
● The current study determined the impact of Group Movie Therapy (GMT) on the activities of daily living in older adults.
● The obtained results indicated that GMT increased the instrumental activities of daily living in older adults.
● It is suggested that GMT to be used as a non-invasive, low-cost, and non-risky approach to increase the elderly’s autonomy in performing the instrumental activities of daily living.
Plain Language Summary
The activities of daily living are among the essential components of life and reflect functional independence in older adults. Declined physical function could impair the activities of daily living. Geriatric nurses must be aware of the non-invasive, low-cost, and non-risky ways to increase the activities of daily living in older adults. The study findings suggested that group movie therapy could play an impotent role in improving the performance of instrumental activities of daily living, such as shopping, food preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and minor home repairs.

● Adolescence is the most critical stages of a person’s life.
● Widespread psychological problems, such as depression, antisocial behaviors, and academic failure, may arise due to the dynamic changes of puberty.
● In Iran, according to the census report of 2016, >25% of the population consisted of adolescents aged 10 to 19 years, with half of them being females.
● Most girls have no basic and essential information about biopsychological conditions in puberty, as well as the required appropriate health behaviors.
● Adolescent girls require accurate and adequate information about their bodies and health.
● Education must be provided to disseminate knowledge about the biopsychosocial questions based on family, school, and public education.
Plain Language Summary
People with high self-efficacy, compared to those with low self-efficacy, select more challenging tasks that involve more effort, as well as greater goals and resilience; thus, they demonstrate better performance and experience less anxiety. Adolescent health education, as a form of educational investment, includes care that promotes mental, physical, and emotional health in adolescence and other life stages. This study aimed to determine the effect of puberty health education on the general self-efficacy of public-school female students. The relevant findings suggested that providing puberty health education was effective in promoting the students’ self-efficacy. This result could be used by healthcare providers, especially community health nurses, to support appropriate and practical training in promoting students’ self-efficacy.

● Adventitious factors, such as increased body fat and physical inactivity, could exacerbate insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome.
● Weight reduction could be optimally achieved with a multimodality approach by adapting to a healthy lifestyle through diet modification and physical activity.
● Fasting during the month of Ramadan enables modifications in body composition; most of the investigated body composition parameters returned to the normal weight level.
● Beneficial changes occur in HDL and LDL levels during Ramadan fasting; fasting could also lead to a reduction of central obesity, waist circumference, and waist to hip ratio.
Plain Language Summary
Ramadan fasting is part of the lunar calendar. Since the lunar year is 11 days shorter than the solar year, this month is rotating throughout the solar year with different hours of fasting (11-17 hours) in various seasons. The most critical lunar month for Muslims in the world is Ramadan, with restrictions, such as smoking, drinking liquids, and eating from morning prayer to evening prayer. This study evaluated the effects of Ramadan fasting on metabolic syndrome and body composition in fasting and non-fasting male students. The collected results indicated that weight, body mass index, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist to hip ratio, fasting blood glucose, insulin, insulin resistance, and triglyceride levels have decreased at the end of the fasting period. The high-density lipoprotein cholesterol increased in the fasting group. Therefore, to benefit from this holy month, male students need to include nutrients in their diet during Ramadan.
